Liebster Blog Awards

I've been nominated for another Liebster Award!!! I'm so honored, not totally sure that it's a great thing because that means my blog isn't growing much but I am still touched that Deborah liked my blog enough to give me this award You should totally check her out! She's so sweet and has some great creations on her blog.

Here are the 11 questions for my chosen blogs:

1.      How did you get started in Crafting? My mom started us at a very young age so I've crafted my whole life.
2.      Out of your supply which Die Cut, do you like and use the most? I use my Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Tattered Banners (by TH) it's so versatile for adding sentiments.

3.      Do you prefer to make cards, mixed media, or scrapbook pages? I started out making cards and I still enjoy that but my heart is in Mixed Media, I've never been a scrapbooker.
4.      What is your favorite color to use when designing a project? (card, scrapbook pg, mixed media) Ivory is my favorite base color and Turquoise my favorite add in.
5.      What movie is you’re all time favorite? Oh that's a tough one...I think No Way Out with Kevin Costner
6.      Where are you from? Ummmm...I was an Air Force Brat...I have no long time roosts per se. I've lived the longest length of time In Central Texas, 21 years now but getting ready to move to Florida...wanderlust I guess :)
7.      Did you do/did crafts with your kids when they are still little? Always, I tried to instill the love of art in both my children and they both enjoy it thankfully.
8.      What is your favorite fruit to eat? Another tough one...if I have to pick just one I'd say Pomegranates. 
9.      Do you have any pets or kids? Two grown kids and two dogs, although technically one of the dogs is my sons but it lives with me for now.
10.   Where do you like to go to eat? Where don't I like to go to eat would be a better question LOL...If I'm not cooking it I love it!
11.   Do you have other hobbies or interests? I love to read, walk the beach (and lay on it too!), travel, and play games (board, internet doesn't matter).

A Simple and Cheap Ring

A very quick project to show you today. A cute ring made from Miriam's Crafting Supply Products.

Filigreed ring base $.75

Antique copper tone beautiful filigreed ring base that has space for a 10mm, or slightly larger pearl, rhinestone, or other item.






10 - 15mm butterfly buttons $1.00

You receive 10 buttons per order. These are painted and glazed wooden buttons.







A little glue and a couple of small crystal gems.





















Total cost? Under $1.00... not bad for a cute accessory.

Try This at Home Friday Tutorial: Print Directly to a Tag

This week for Miriam's Crafting Supplies DT project, I was to do a TRY THIS at HOME Tutorial. I decided to show everyone how to print directly to a tag using the ephemera set that accompanies the paper that I used in my Mini Album. So with out further ado, here's the video. Hot Air Ballon Mini Album for Miriam's Crafting Supplies Design Team Mon...

This month the challenge theme is Hot Air Balloons. I went steampunky with it! Miriam has these great mailers that are perfect for creating an album with. I used quite a few of Miriam's products for this mini album along with some items I had on hand.
