Brrr... Christmas Card Time?

Happy Columbus Day Everyone!

It's a chilly 64 degrees here in Texas and that's COLD for this time of year. Yesterday it only got up to 57 and I had to break out the jeans instead of my standard shorts and tee's. I don't like cold but I must admit it was kind of nice wearing something different for a change hehe. Back up to 80 tomorrow so it was short lived.

I live on a quiet residential street but about two months ago, they started building a Dollar General store about a block away from me. Talk about dust! Holy cow, I have to clean the floors and dust nearly every day. So today I should be doing that but instead I'm playing on here! This is really kind of fun and I think I'm going to like blogging. Have a lot to figure out yet but...well it's a lot better then cleaning! LOL

I've been working on Christmas cards a lot and so I thought I would show you a couple of new ones I created. I'm not sure where I got the image, as I told you before I'm now keeping track since I'm blogging, so if it's yours please let me know. I want to give credit where it's due and this wonderful image definitely deserves credit! The little tree tag come form Cre8tive hands, and again no idea where the sentiment came from but it's lovely! Let me know if it's yours or you know where it came from.

Update!!! I found it! The image comes from the very talented A. Fenton of Anne's Cards For You. You can find her link in my blog list. Whew!!! Doing a happy dance!

Do to start the card, I layered a piece of black CS on the red card, embossed an olive green sheet of CS using a Sizzix Tim Holtz Tall Pines folder which I layered in the opposite direction. I used my watercolor pencils to color up the image and then mounted it with pop dots. Next I used some bakers twine to thread a button I had in my old stash that my aunt gave me years ago. Popped up the sentiment using a circle punch and lastly I used my MS branch punch to create the foliage.

I love this card and one of my best friends is a cardinal fan so she was my inspiration on this one. Thanks for always being there for me Myra!

I'm in love with my second card. So simple yet elegant I think! I searched for over an hour on the three vintage sites I love trying to find this image to give credit but to no avail. Sigh, I'm getting better really I am! Let me know if it's yours.

So I made my own background paper on this one. I wanted something with lots of Christmas sayings. I'll post it at the end if anyone would like it. I made a black card, mounted purple reflections CS from Michael's over that. I layered some pretty lace over the bottom of my Christmas paper and adhered it with double stick tape then adhered that over the purple with more double stick. After I colored up my image using watercolor pencils, I attache that to black card stock and cut it to match the image shape. I popped it up (LOVE my pop dots!) put a clear rhinestone in each corner, then added a little felt bow that I also got at Michael's. The inside was simple layering CS and my paper. Voila! Finished vintage Christmas card.

Update! I found the image source. This gorgeous image comes from Digital Two for Tuesday. She has tons of great images. Check it out!

Here's the paper I made, I hope you enjoy using it and please leave me a comment or better yet  a picture of your work if you decide to grab it!

Enjoy your Monday!
